Encino Hospital Medical Center Nationally Recognized with an ‘A’ Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade

Encino, CA (November 10, 2021) – Encino Hospital Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare Foundation, received an “A” grade in the Fall 2021 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, a national distinction recognizing Encino Hospital Medical’s achievements in protecting patients from errors, injuries, accidents and infections.

This is the very first that Encino Hospital Medical Center has been awarded an “A” grade by The Leapfrog Group, a true testament to their dedication to safe high-quality, and excellent patient care and best practices in place for exceptional outcomes.

The Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization, assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D,” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over thirty national performance measures reflecting errors, injuries, accidents, and infections, as well as systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.

The hospital’s 24-hour Emergency Services is focused on providing exceptional care promptly, equipped with state-of-the-art medical technology with dedicated world-class physicians, highly trained nurses, skilled technicians, and support staff members.

The Acute Rehabilitation Unit is also an important component of the hospital’s patient safety strategy. “We achieve better outcomes and shorter lengths of stay,” Garcia continued. “The unit’s multidisciplinary team treats patients who have sustained functional loss with high quality and compassionate care.”

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program based exclusively on hospital prevention of medical errors and harms to patients. The grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
