Encino Hospital Medical Center Named Healthgrades Five-Star Recipient for Treatment of Heart Attack and Heart Failure 5 Years in a Row

10-18-2017

ENCINO, Calif., October 18, 2017 – Encino Hospital Medical Center today announced that it has achieved 5-Stars for its performance in Treatment of Heart Attack and Heart Failure for five years in a row (2014-2018) from Healthgrades, the leading online resource for comprehensive information about physicians and hospitals. This achievement is part of new findings and data released by Healthgrades and featured in the Healthgrades 2018 Report to the Nation. Every year, Healthgrades evaluates hospital performance at nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide for 34 of the most common inpatient procedures and conditions.*

The new report demonstrates how clinical performance continues to differ dramatically between hospitals regionally and nationally. This variation in care has a significant impact on health outcomes. A 5-Star rating indicates that Encino Hospital Medical Center’s clinical outcomes are statistically significantly better than expected when treating the condition or performing the procedure being evaluated.

Encino Hospital Medical Center also was named a 5-Star recipient for these specific treatments and procedures:

  • Hip Fracture Treatment for 3 Years in a Row (2016-2018)
  • Treatment of Pneumonia for 2 Years in a Row (2017-2018)
  • Treatment of Sepsis for 5 Years in a Row (2014-2018)

"The hard work of our doctors, nurses and staff in providing top-of-the-line care to the Los Angeles community is evident with this recognition from Healthgrades," says Bockhi Park, Chief Executive Officer, Encino Hospital Medical Center. "The expertise, dedication and patient-centered teamwork displayed by these individuals led to Encino Hospital receiving these awards and we are proud of these achievements.”

“In an environment where consumers have more choices about where to receive their care, a hospital’s commitment to achieving high-quality outcomes is fundamental,” said Brad Bowman, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Healthgrades. “Because consumers place such value on this information, hospitals that achieve five stars for Treatment of Heart Attack and Treatment of Heart Failure stand out in their marketplace.”
